| Oshkosh Equipment recommends removing your docks and lifts for the winter season. We have seen many cases where docks lifts are left to freeze in year after year with no problems, but it is only a matter of time until the ice moves and completely destroys your equipment. The ice has unbelievable power when it moves and there is no stopping it once it starts. Permanent piers work well in areas where ice will never shift, but have no place on the large bodies of water we have in our area. We have all seen these semi-permanent structures come and go and the final result is usually a removeable unit down the road. |
